Confidential sources (unlike Ben Tribbett, I don't name names) have let me know that Jill Holtzman Vogel has been leading BIG in polling for weeks. The numbers have broken down something like this:
February: Vogel +7
April: Vogel +14
Now: Vogel +22
Here's a good question for all of the conspiracy theorists out there who have been blaming Jill for Mark's self-inflicted legal problems. Why would Jill not protect her lead and ride out the last month instead of risking a backlash on a hail mary like pushing a legal indictment?
UPDATE: The Vogel campaign has released their internal polling, which closely matches the information that I had heard. They claim their lead as +5 points in February, +13 in April, and +23 in May.
